We were happy to be informed about this small tournament and at the last minute formed a team of 6 men and 1 woman by the name of Bargy. Team Bargy bagelled the first 4 opponents in the morning, using the time to iron out holes in a 5 person zone and a horizontal offense. 

Around lunch, there was a distance throwing competition with 3 men and 3 women from each team allowed to participate.  Nick, Nate and Uli represented Bargy with Uli winning 1st place (at 80 some meters), and Nick coming in 4th. Lin threw for the women and took 3rd place.

In the afternoon, Bargy played the semis against the 1st opponent from the morning. They were much more prepared this time and managed to score 3 points before one of their strongest players went down with an injury. 

We had a great time in the finals against Kaohsiung City - our first close game of the day. They had some great athleticism and throws, but in the end, our wiley old skills won them over. It won't be long before they start winning finals and we look forward to seeing them further develop.

For future reference, there are several options to get to Taichung very early in the morning to make the 8 am captains meeting. The cheapest is the UBus from Taipei main at 5:30 am which arrived at 7:30 am in Taichung for $240 NT. On the way back, we caught the 5:18 pm train for $375 (without seating).
